Read a positive EV comparison

Understand the offered price, reference estimate, and assumptions behind an EV result.

Compare the offered price with its reference

A positive EV view compares an offered price with a fair-probability estimate derived from qualifying reference prices. The recorded event, market, period, side, and line need to match before prices are comparable.

The basic comparison averages no-vig estimates from other complete books. Pricing settings and detailed analysis in the expanded tools expose reference-book rules and methods. Read the method displayed for the view you are using rather than treating every fair-value label as an independent model forecast.

Inspect the supporting prices

Incomplete, stale, suspended, or nonmatching records can prevent a calculation. An empty list does not establish that no opportunities exist elsewhere; it means the current records and settings produced no qualifying rows.

  1. Open a comparison and check the target price and observed time.
  2. Review the listed reference books and any estimated-line label.
  3. Check the selected sport, books, date range, and odds filters.
  4. If a value is missing, inspect whether enough complete, qualifying reference data exists.

Treat stake output as a calculation

Bankroll and multiplier controls affect the displayed stake estimate. They are inputs to a calculation, not balances held by PreciseEV or instructions sent to a sportsbook.

An EV percentage is conditional on the reference estimate and recorded price. It does not guarantee a result. Recheck the source and price if either changes; the software cannot verify acceptance of a wager.
